When to Sow:
Sow seeds indoors 8-12 weeks before last frost date. Optimal soil temperature for germination is 85°F. Sow seeds into flats and then plant into cell trays or containers after  leaves appear. Plant outdoors when day temperature is at least 65°F and night time temperatures are above 50°F.  Cover as needed depending on colder temperature and insects.
 
Harvest:
Eggplants when skin is glossy and thumbprint will not leave an impression; if seeds are brown fruit is over-ripe. Regular harvest increases production of fruit.
 
Special Features:
Large bell-shape, medium to thick skin, deep purple color, and glossy when mature and 1-3lbs. when mature.  High yielding, no spines, slight ribbing.  Tolerable to heat and dry conditions.  Not frost tolerant.
